I don't know how UC Verde buffalo grass differs from other varieties, so my comments are somewhat generic. Buffalo grass needs lots of sunlight, so don't plant it anywhere that gets much shade. From what I remember, it is supposed to stay green with as little as 1/2 inch of water every other week or so.
